We’ve all heard about the “Freshman 15”. Those pesky pounds that some of us, possibly you too, gained during the early years of college. Now, it’s the “Quarantine 15” or the “COVID-15”. Have you noticed that you’ve gained some extra pounds these last few months being at home and have been hearing more about the benefits of a plant-based diet plan?
Your pants don’t quite fit the same way as they did in February, do they?
It’s been a rough few months, and those extra pounds aren’t making it any easier. Life is more stressful, everyone’s schedules have changed, the gyms are closed (again), and trying to cook healthy meals for the family to eat day in and day out is exhausting all on its own.
There’s no denying that the extra weight is there, it’s time to make some changes!
There has to be a solution by setting up a plant-based diet plan. Something that you can start doing today that will help. At M3, we help our clients lose weight by teaching them to implement a plant-based diet.
A plant-based diet doesn’t have to mean “no meat”. It means that you should eat more foods that are fresh and less processed foods.
It’s more simple than you may think. When we cut out the Mac ‘N Cheese, frozen pizzas, and ramen noodles we allow our body to process real food.
Filling your body with chemicals from processed foods is causing you to crave food that is putting on the weight you’re trying to lose.
Starting today you can add more plant-based options by adding:
- STEP 1 – A variety of fruits
- STEP 2 – Grains like brown rice and whole grain pasta
- STEP 3 – Beans and lentils
and
- STEP 4 – More colors of the rainbow to your salads
You can also try to decrease:
- STEP 5 – The number of drive-thrus you go through each week
- STEP 6 – The number of times you eat processed foods
- STEP 7 – Your soda intake
You do not have to make these 7 steps a stressful actions plan but take them as a thoughtful action for how you will feel when making changes that have powerful effects. These steps help detox your blood, release body fat from storage for added fuel, control blood sugars, and suppress your appetite with additional sticky fiber or soluble dietary fiber.
It sounds expensive and difficult. You may even be thinking that you don’t have the time, but we can help show you some tricks to make this easy and effective for you and your family. When you start with a plan, you may find that you actually save money and time while also losing those pounds.
